Trois Quarts

3/4.

Trois Quarts is a atypical co-working space and makerspace that goes beyond conventional work environments : a space where furniture is made, prototypes are born, and ideas are brought to life. It is not just a workshop, but a hub of artistic energy. Ateliers Gam France is based in the co-working area of Trois Quarts. Ideas and prototypes are tested out quickly and seamlessly with the makespace right beneath. Located at 34 rue Matabiau, Toulouse, the name of Trois Quarts (Three Quarters in French) refers to its number on the street and the legendary platform 93/4 from Harry Potter. It refers to the mysterious and exclusive quality of the members-only makerspace.

With pure lines and minimalist design, Trois Quarts is first and foremost functional and designed for a new way of working. The space is recognizable by its artistic display of vibrant yellow electrical pipes. Painted with a bold hue, they double as functional conduits and visually striking elements that form a network of pathways leading to individual work corners that are equipped with multiple plug points and accent lighting. The accordion-style stainless steel lamps allow each member to sculpt his/her workspace’s illumination. Three long LED fixtures ensure the overall lighting. They illuminate the space with a playful glow and add a contemporary touch.

The existing bookshelf is recycled and renovated into a work of art itself. Its white façade juxtaposed against a vivid blue interior creates a strong visual contrast and a sense of depth to the space. On a blue wall of the cabinetry, the handmade round carpet by Minhfa representing Song hỷ - 囍 (Double Happiness)  infuses the space with Vietnamese heritage.
